Career Tips and Retirement

General Career Tips

To do well at work, your Sims need to be in a good mood every day and use the hard working actions whenever possible. Occasionally opportunities will present themselves for advancement, and these should be taken at every chance. There are also random encounters, such as a bad or good event taking place at work.

Retirement

Your Sims can retire from work when they reach a certain age – complete with a pension (even as a Criminal, bizarrely!).

You can only retire from a job that you got BEFORE you turned into an elder. If you get another job after retiring, you will lose your pension and you will not be able to retire again unless you somehow change your life-stage.

My Sim reached retirement and received a descent pension, however, I took on another job and quit. I later realized I has lost my pension and now I’m not sure if I can get it back, do you know if there is?

There is no youth serum but if you turn aging off, simple answer. If you keep sims 3 patches updated however, there is now the option (when testingcheatsenabled is activated) to shift-click your sim and take them back to the CAS (Create A Sim).

In answer to the ongoing bombardment of questions:
You can/will (Not sure which, I have aging turned off) once you reach "Elder" age; you need to have the Aging option turned on to do this.

When retired the amount of Pension you get is based on the job you have; see Sims 3 Wikia for more info.

A Pension is a sum of money you obtain every week much like the "Stipend" of Professions; only obtainable once retired (See above).
